Every adventure starts with a simple idea. The idea to start The Original Cold Smoked Salt and Pepper Co. began from the routine daily occurrence of running out of a store brand Hickory Smoked Sea Salt. We began to think that an all natural, non-artificial way of smoking salt and peppercorns had to be easily attainable. We began investigating the ingredients and procedures of the big name and store brand smoked salts and peppercorns. We found that most of the smoky flavor was added by artificial smoke by-products. This became the spark we needed to embark on creating our own all natural smoked salt and peppercorn. Our adventure continued to create small successes, a few failures and an end product that we are more than honored to present to you. Each and every product produced by The Original Cold Smoked Salt and Pepper Co. has been uniquely created out of persistence and determination to provide authentic, all natural smoked salt and smoked peppercorn using only the purest natural ingredients. 

Every product we produce at The Original Cold Smoked Salt and Pepper Co. is individually handcrafted. There are no automated, manufactured items thrown on an assembly line. We strive to stay as authentic as possible to the handcrafted art of cold smoking and work to provide you with only the best all natural smoked salt and smoked peppercorns. We know you could shop elsewhere for your smoked salt and smoked peppercorn, but we would never want you to roll the dice on using products that have been manufactured in factories that do not use our unique all natural artisanal pottery smoking process.. The art of cold smoking is one of the most authentic ways to enhance and fuse the natural seasoning abilities of salt and peppercorns with essential smoky flavor. Unlike traditional hot smoking, no actual heat or fire is applied directly to the product. The entire transformation of the salt and peppercorn is completed by intense and continual exposure to the smoke of our carefully selected varieties of wood.


Each batch of our freshly smoked sea salt and peppercorn is cultivated by hand in our originally designed clay pottery cold smokers, which capture the pure essence of smoke and flavor. We select only the finest all natural maple, applewood, mesquite, hickory and cherry wood to enhance the nuances of earthiness found within our products. Our flavored peppercorns are steeped in freshly squeezed juices for at least 24 hours and then slowly cold smoked to intertwine the unrefined beauty of natural and pure smoke flavors.

All of our products are 100% natural and handcrafted. Unlike high volume manufactured smoked salts and peppercorns, we never use any dyes, additives, preservatives, artificial flavorings or liquid smoke.
